Dedicated to Protecting Your Rights & Your Future

DWI – or driving while intoxicated – is defined as a person operating a motor vehicle in public while intoxicated. Regardless of whether you were under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you can be arrested and charged with DWI if your blood alcohol level is .08% or higher.

Potential penalties for DWI include:

  • Fines and surcharges
  • Community service
  • Imprisonment
  • Higher car insurance rates
  • DWI education/intervention classes
  • License suspension or revocation

The specific charges you will face depend on various factors including your age, the type of license you have, and other specific circumstances such as if you had other passengers in the car or if someone was seriously injured or killed in an accident caused by you driving while intoxicated.

What to Expect after a DWI Arrest

If you have pending DWI charges, you are facing two legal situations that require exceptional defense: an Administrative License Revocation and criminal charges. The Administrative License Revocation is brought by the Department of Public Safety (DPS), which has the power to suspend your driving privileges anywhere from 90 days to one year or more, depending on your specific case. If you do not have an experienced Brazoria County DWI defense attorney working on your case, you may end up with an incredibly harsh sentence.

    "Exceptional defense attorney!"
You will not find a better defense team to represent you! Steve and KK are exceptional and extremely passionate about what they do. They exceed their reputation.
I had the pleasure to have these two remarkable attorneys sit next to me and protect me through my trial. I witnessed firsthand how the trial process works. You have to have a strategic team that understands the system and rules of law so your innocence will not be compromised. The court stacked every card against us. Steve and KK strategically navigated through an unjust court, defending my rights. After 4 days of trial and 24 minutes of jury deliberation - a unanimous NOT GUILTY verdict was read! I was acquitted on all charges. Hiring this firm to represent me was my best decision. I can't thank Steve O and KK enough for putting their life on hold in order to give me mine back! This firm doesn't charge enough for the work they put into representing you. You won't be disappointed in retaining this law firm.

"I highly recommend Steve and this team"
In George Orwell Book (Animal Farm) George Orwell said, " All animal are created equal, but some are more equal than others"
Ultimately, the quote serves as a cautionary reminder of the potential pitfalls that emerge when individual or collective interests overshadow the principles of fairness and justice.
    1) As my attorney I was updated with phone calls and followed by mail.
    2) He did what only the best attorney do, defending the client's interest and reputation and not plea bargaining for lesser sentence.
    3) Will stand up for client's rights, Justice and fairness.
All attorneys including State Public Defenders are created equal they and they all have the same functions to perform in the civil society. In my experience with Steve and his team are more equal than others in fighting for rights, fairness and justice which is why we go to court.
After going through the system once I pray, I never be in that situation again, I am glad I found an attorney that suited my needs. If I were to be in the situation again, I would rather walk into that court with this attorney with confidence knowing that nothing can possibly go wrong. For anyone that may need the service of an attorney, I highly recommend Steve and this team if you want to come out innocent OR you might as well settle for a public Defender and give the prosecutor your jail house uniform size before you get to the courthouse. The difference will be clear after the verdict, you make the choice.

    "Godsend"
I was charged with 2 felony cases (DWI & Evading) and my life had just turned upside down. I was looking to hire the best attorney in Brazoria County and everyone I talked to said Steve Gonzalez was the best. Through his hard work and persistence, he was able to prove my innocence. I wouldn't want my life in anyone else's hand except his.

    "Experienced and Respected"
I am extremely grateful that Mr. Gonzalez represented me in my case. From the very beginning, he was very communicative and made me feel at ease. His legal assistants were also very kind and helpful throughout the process. He is a highly respected attorney whose reputation and expertise are phenomenal.

    "Could not have been better"
Was arrested twice in a very short period for invalid license. I was unaware how seriously Brazoria County takes the charge. I was looking at a class A misdemeanor for the second offense and the state had not filed the first. I thought the best possible outcome could be time served and awaiting first offense but Mr Gonzalez got the second offense dropped to a Class C misdemeanor with $100 fine and no filing of the first case I had not even considered that possible in the outcome could not have been better.

"Best Lawyer hands down! Your in good hands if you hire them"
I was facing a very scary and very serious felony charge and I was innocent! Steve Gonzalez and Kristi fought and got no bill. When they tell you you’re in good hands, you if you don’t take their word for it please take mine! They got me my life back and I could never ever thank them enough for this. The best hands down.

    "Best Lawyer hands down"
Steve and his law firm are by far the best firm around. They were always in court on time and kept me informed throughout my 3-year process with Steve and his partner Kristina. He ended up getting my case dismissed after that long period. I would like to thank both of them for there and patience with my case it was money well spent and would definitely refer him to everybody.
