The 15-Day Administrative License Revocation Deadline

Administrative License Revocation is the Texas Department of Public Safety process for certain alleged test refusals or failures. It’s separate from the criminal DWI case, even though both proceedings can arise from the same arrest.

A person generally has 15 days after receiving the applicable notice to request an Administrative License Revocation hearing. Missing that deadline can result in denial of the request. This administrative license issue is also distinct from a suspension that may follow a criminal conviction.

What Happens After a DWI Arrest

A case may involve bond conditions, evidence collection, discovery, court settings, negotiations, pretrial motions, and trial preparation. Through discovery, we obtain and review evidence held by the prosecution.
